Ninjas in Pyjamas and fnatic will square off in the group phase of Gfinity Masters, while EnVyUs have once again been paired with French rival Titan. Gfinity's eSports arena, located in London, will play host this weekend to the second of four Counter-Strike Masters championships scheduled for this year, with ten teams from all over the world battling it out for the top prize of $25,000. After expanding its list of participants from eight to ten teams, Gfinity has been forced to make some slight adjustements to the format of the group stage. Instead of a double-elimination format, the group phase will use a best-of-two round-robin system, with the top two sides from each group advancing to the best-of-three playoffs.
fnatic, who come into this event on the back of a title-winning campaign at DreamHack Open Tours, will have to tackle Ninjas in Pyjamas once again after the two Swedish giants faced off in the FACEIT League finals, while EnVyUs will lock horns with Titan in what has become a classic at international events lately.
